When Jesus, you have provided each day, a muffin with peanut butter, and I have easily eaten when others cannot, and though a senior of 66, even with severe arthritis, I will offer to set, serve, and wash for those eight people who need companionship and a nice hot lunch. Chuck.
Writing and the Figures of Life
Oh, my soul, forgive me every day for a wasted time, for volunteering never has done; I dedicate what I can to Thy great Giving. Lord forgive me for not keeping up with teaching techniques, for slipping from excellent to average,
I linger at the door oh Lord, valuing friends and neighbors, wondering where I might walk, so as a senior I walk into The Hartford Senior Center. Maybe each Tuesday I can walk into kitchen work for 6 to 8 people, at age 66, washing dishes, setting tables. Bringing something of Home in a meal, oh God, praise the Lord, action, not words, I offer some manual work, washing cups, and saucers, plates, spoons, forks, knives, oh Lord take away this gut, let me be of service to Jesus’ people!
